Cranford Girl Scout
Troop 311 of Washington Rock Girl Scout Council is
currently working on prerequisite steps leading up
to their Gold Awards.
The Gold Award is the
Girl Scout equivalent of the Boy Scout Eagle Scout
Award. One prerequisite requirement is earning
specific badges which reflect the goals of the Girl
Scout Law.
Troop 311 chose the
Plant Life badge which reflects their respect and
dedication to the environment. The Hyatt Hills
management provided the perfect opportunity for the
girls to get started. On Saturday October 13th the
girls set out to plant shrubs on the corner of the
property located at Walnut Ave & Raritan Rd. The
shrubs spell out "H H" for The Hyatt Hills Golf
Complex.

Pictured are Brooke
Capasso, Leah Crane, Kathleen French, Dena Leonelli,
Mary Kate Ryan, and Mary Ushay. The girls are
freshmen at CHS and hope to attain their Gold Awards
during their Junior year.

A plaque with
recognition of Girl Scout Troop 311 volunteerism in
planting the visual display will be posted at the
corner.
